More About the Brocade SMI Agent
The Brocade SMI Agent is a proxy agent that resides on a separate host system. Brocade has released versions for Sun Solaris, Microsoft Windows, and Linux. This Brocade SMI Agent allows applications to manage the SAN infrastructure from a single access point by communicating with multiple switches and multiple fabrics. The Brocade SMI agent does not require any modification or upgrade to deployed Brocade fabrics. The Brocade SMI Agent supports the widest range of switches in the industry from the SilkWorm 2400 to the newly released SilkWorm FR4-18i, SilkWorm 4900 and SilkWorm 7500 switches.
The most recent version of the Brocade SMI Agent is v110.5.0, and it is now available to Brocade Developers through the Brocade Partner Network for development and qualification with their applications. Brocade SMI Agent v110.5.0 has successfully completed testing and conforms to elements of the Storage Networking Industry Association Conformance Testing Program (SNIA-CTP) test specification version 1.1.0.
