Brocade Adapter Software Installer

Windows | Linux | Top

The Brocade Adapter Software Installer is a one step program that allows you to install all adapter software and drivers, including both Ethernet and Storage drivers. It allows the option to install only Host Connectivity Manager (HCM, a GUI Management Application), only the drivers, or both. Included with the drivers are the Brocade Command line Utility (BCU), HCM Agent, and APIs.

HCM is supported in the following versions of Windows: Server 2003, Sever 2008, XP, and Vista.  All other software (including drivers) are supported in: Server 2003 and Server 2008.

Driver Packages

Windows | Linux | VMware | Top

Download the appropriate driver package if you would like to install the driver directly without using the Brocade Adapter Software Installer. Included in the driver package are the installation script, storage (FC/FCoE) and networking (Ethernet) drivers, Brocade Command line Utility (BCU), HCM Agent, and APIs.

  • Windows - These driver packages includes the adapter driver, Brocade Command line Utility (BCU) and APIs (the HCM Agent is not included; it is recommended to install drivers using the Windows Adapter Software Installer in order to use HCM).
  • SLES - Two driver packages are required: the appropriate “brocade-bfa-*.rpm” which delivers only the adapter driver; and the “Linux Driver Utility (SLES)” (bfa_util_linux-*.rpm) which delivers the Brocade Command line Utility (BCU), HCM Agent, and APIs.
  • RHEL - These driver packages includes the adapter driver, Brocade Command line Utility (BCU), HCM Agent, and APIs.
  • VMware - These driver packages includes the adapter driver, Brocade Command line Utility (BCU), HCM Agent, and APIs.

Driver Update Disks (DUDs)

Top

The Driver Update Disk (DUD) is an extractable image (.ZIP or .ISO) that contains a specific set of drivers and directory structure to be loaded during an Operating System installation to a remote LUN over a SAN. Download the appropriate DUD for the OS and platform that you are installing the OS from.
Note: Support for FC and FCoE San boot only (Ethernet PXE boot not supported currently)

Boot Code (BIOS)

Top

Download the Multi-Boot Code Image to update the BIOS on the adapter on x86, IEM64T, or AMD64 platforms. The image can be flashed using either the BCU or HCM on systems running v1.1+ of the drivers. A LiveCD is also available for x86, IEM64T, and AMD64 platforms, which contains a bootable Linux shell, drivers, BCU, and the Multi-Boot Code Image. The LiveCD provides an alternative method of updating the boot code on the adapters, e.g. on diskless servers or servers without an OS installed.

Note: Support for FC and FCoE San boot only (Ethernet PXE bot not supported currently)
