Brocade 8000 Switch

The Brocade 8000 is a top-of-rack link layer (Layer 2) DCB/FCoE switch with 24 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) ports for LAN connections and eight Fibre Channel ports (with up to 8 Gbps speed) for Fibre Channel SAN connections. This reliable, high-performance switch provides advanced Fibre Channel services, supports Ethernet and DCB capabilities, and is managed by Brocade DCFM.

  • Delivers Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE) and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) for top-of-rack server I/O consolidation solutions, connecting access layer servers to corporate LANs and SANs
  • Offers choice. Customers may start by deploying the Brocade 8000 as an L2 Ethernet switch with rich CEE features, then add Fibre Channel and FCoE capabilities as needed. Alternatively, customers can deploy the Brocade 8000 with all 32 ports and FCoE support enabled.
  • Features a top-of-rack, 1U, data link layer (L2) switch with multiprotocol design that supports CEE, FCoE, and traditional Ethernet protocols
  • Utilizes cut-through non-blocking switch architecture to deliver up to 8 Gbps performance with eight Fibre Channel ports and line-rate performance for 24 CEE ports with 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE)
  • Provides rich Layer 2 Ethernet functionality for LAN traffic
  • Utilizes Brocade ISL Trunking for Fibre Channel. It also uses Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) and Brocade frame-based trunking to maximize  CEE bandwidth
  • Combines with Brocade Converged Network Adapters (CNAs) and Brocade Data Center Fabric Manager (DCFM) to provide a unified CEE/FCoE solution that reduces capital and operating expenses (CapEx and OpEx).
