The Brocade ADX Series is an all-in-one service and application delivery solution that accelerates application performance, increases application availability, and improves application security with a single point of management.

Deliver Superior Performance Today and Tomorrow
The Brocade ADX Series provides up to 3 million HTTP connections per second, 70 Gbps of HTTP application throughput, and low-latency switching–as low as 20 microseconds–for response-sensitive applications. Its highly scalable, distributed architecture is designed to maximize application performance while ensuring high-speed interconnects among application, management, and interface modules.

Facilitate a Scalable IPv6 Internet Transformation
The Brocade ADX Series eases the migration to IPv6 by enabling service providers and enterprises to maximize existing IPv4-based investments while communicating with the growing IPv6-based world–without requiring "rip-and-replace" upgrades. The Brocade ADX Series offers IPv6 performance and feature parity for critical applications and infrastructure services as well as the standards-based NAT64 gateway for a seamless transition to IPv6 networks.

Enable Service Velocity with an Open Application Scripting Engine
The Brocade OpenScript engine provides a flexible application scripting engine to create and deploy network services faster. It augments Brocade ADX Series services and functions with user-provided custom logic, written in Perl. The OpenScript engine includes a performance estimator that predicts the performance of scripts before they go into production to mitigate deployment risk. It is also coupled with extensive free software modules from the Comprehensive Perl Archive Network (CPAN).

Maximize Application Availability and Optimize Application Delivery
The Brocade ADX Series maximizes availability and provides non-stop delivery of business-critical applications and infrastructure systems (such as DNS, firewall, and caching) within single or distributed locations by using a range of advanced local and global traffic management (Global Server Load Balancing) features, high-availability methodologies, and intelligent application health monitoring with multiprotocol support.

Shield Application Servers from Malicious Attacks
The Brocade ADX Series also acts as a DNS server farm proxy, delivering up to 18 million DNS queries per second. Moreover, the Brocade ADX Series provides reliable protection against many forms of Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, such as DNS and SYN (synchronization) attacks. It also offers industry-leading data rates of up to 120 million SYN attack preventions per second while servicing legitimate traffic.

Scale on Demand with Pay-as-You-Grow Capacity, Performance, and Advanced Features
Organizations can increase port capacity and performance, and add advanced features quickly and non-disruptively through a simple software license upgrade within the Brocade ADX 1000 Series (1U) platform. This scalability is also available for the modular chassis platforms of the Brocade ADX 4000 and 10000 Series, which can leverage interchangeable modules.

Enable Third-Party Orchestration and Automation Integration
The Brocade ADX Series features a standards-based SOAP/XML Application Programming Interface (API) that allows for tighter integration with third-party orchestration and automation tools. Application professionals can leverage a range of XML API extensions–from basic load balancing and system stats to advanced system monitoring such as SSL, health checks, firewall load balancing, scripting engine, and security.

Automate On-Demand Provisioning in Heterogeneous Virtual Environments
Brocade Application Resource Broker enables the automated provisioning of Virtual Machines (VMs) within mixed virtual environments that include VMware, XenServer, and Microsoft Hyper-V. It simplifies the management of application resources and helps ensure optimal application performance by dynamically adding and removing application resources within globally distributed data centers. Brocade Application Resource Broker–working in tandem with the Brocade ADX Series–provides these capabilities through real-time monitoring of application resource responsiveness, traffic load information, and infrastructure capacity information from application infrastructures.

Optimized Network Infrastructure Acquisition through Brocade Network Subscription
Brocade helps organizations easily address their information technology requirements by offering flexible network acquisition and support alternatives to meet their financial needs. Organizations can select from purchase, lease, and Brocade Network Subscription options to align network acquisition with their unique capital requirements and risk profiles. Abstract:

The transition from the IPv4 protocol to the IPv6 protocol represents a significant challenge to service providers, hosting services, and other companies. They must find ways to accommodate end users and Customer-Premises Equipment (CPE) devices that may be using either protocol. This white paper examines four transition technologies. Brocade is offering its customers a transition path to the new wave of Internet technologies while continuing to utilize customers’ existing infrastructure.
