10GbE within the Enterprise Network
10 Gigabit Ethernet can be use to connect backbones switches and routers, simplifying network connectivity and administration. Service Providers are keen on using 10 Gigabit Ethernet for their networks because Ethernet is cost effective, giving Service Providers a lower CapEx and a higher return on their investments. In addition, Ethernet today comes with increasing number of "service technologies", ensuring greater flexibility for delivering customer-facing services. Finally, Service Provider's Enterprise customers are increasingly requiring native Ethernet as their preferred service connection to simplify their network infrastructure and increase the speed of their various Branch-to-Branch offices.
