Providing massive scalability, unparalleled wire-speed performance, and comprehensive routing capabilities, the Brocade MLX Series enables next-generation virtualized data centers to support rising application traffic demand and deliver cloud-based services using less infrastructure, vastly improving operational efficiency and reducing costs.

The Brocade MLX Series of routers includes the released Brocade MLXe and existing Brocade MLX chassis models. Delivering five times the IPv6 throughput of the nearest competing platform and twice the system capacity of Brocade MLX models, Brocade MLXe routers provide future-proof, core-to-access network connectivity for the most demanding data center environments and to achieve greater network consolidation. For enterprises with lesser scalability needs, Brocade MLX routers offer a high value solution.

In addition to industry leading 10 GbE and 100 GbE wire-speed density, the Brocade MLX Series offers an innovative “Virtual Top-of-Rack” solution for 1 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) server connectivity that vastly reduces the amount of network components in comparison to competing architectures. Delivering up to 1,536 GbE ports at full wire speed using special patch panel connections, this solution collapses network access and aggregation layers, resulting in dramatically simpler network configuration and management and lower costs.

Available in 4-, 8-, 16-, and 32-slot offerings, both Brocade MLX Series models offer advanced routing features at no additional expense, to include MPLS/VPLS for Layer 2 connectivity between data centers and Multi-chassis Trunking (MCT), delivering full utilization of all links for optimum network utilization and instantaneous link or node failover. Non-stop networking is further achieved through hitless failover and software upgrades, and fully redundant hardware components.

The Brocade MLX Series of routers are Data Center Bridging-capable (DCB) to support emerging server I/O consolidation. Brocade MLXe routers support all existing Brocade MLX modules, providing extraordinary investment protection. In addition, all MLXe models provide rear exhaust airflow for energy efficient hot-aisle, cold-aisle data center design.
