Brocade Certified Fabric Administrator (BCFA) Exam

As a Brocade Certified Fabric Administrator, you must be able to understand basic Fibre Channel concepts, demonstrate basic knowledge of Brocade SAN switching platforms and related components, install, configure, and maintain Brocade hardware and software products and troubleshoot basic switch issues.

The Brocade Certified Fabric Administrator exam has these objectives:

Fibre Channel Concepts

• Given a 24-bit address, decode the address components
• Given a switch port, define the valid port types
• Describe the election process, responsibilities, and attributes of a principal switch
• Identify Fibre Channel well-known addresses
• Describe flow control concepts

Product Hardware Features

• Describe how to obtain switch environmental data
• Identify Brocade hardware components

Installation and Configuration

• Demonstrate knowledge of Brocade documentation
• Given a scenario, demonstrate knowledge of product setup

FCP Routing

• Given a scenario, demonstrate knowledge of trunking concepts
• Given a scenario, differentiate between fabric routing policies

Zoning

• Describe zoning concepts and implementation

Management

• Identify basic switch management interfaces
• Given a scenario, demonstrate basic knowledge of management and reporting tools

Troubleshooting

• Given a scenario, describe how to collect information and perform basic troubleshooting under different scenarios
