A Big Boost For Blade Servers

The Brocade Access Gateway improves interoperability, manageability, and scalability for blade servers in SAN environments.

Brocade Access Gateway

If you're using blade servers in your SAN environment, you already understand how well they can increase server and storage connectivity. Now Brocade has a great new way to boost interoperability, manageability, and scalability in your blade sever SAN environments.

The Brocade Access Gateway is a feature of Brocade Fabric OS and a mode of operation that is designed for Brocade blade server SAN switches. Leveraging industry-standard N_Port Identification Virtualization (NPIV) technology, the Brocade Access Gateway provides unprecedented interoperability for multivendor SAN environments.

Because the Brocade Access Gateway does not appear as a switch to the fabric, it does not add a domain or require the same level of management as a traditional switch. As a result, it can help you simplify your IT infrastructure as you scale up your data center deployments.

This unique solution is especially useful in heterogeneous environments that require interoperability for mixed-vendor SAN fabrics - such as during a consolidation project or following a merger/acquisition.
