Copying a file from a USB device to a switch

Use this procedure to copy a file from a USB device to a switch.

ATTENTION
The only supported USB device for this procedure is the Brocade USB device shipped with the switch.
  1. Copy the Python script file to a USB storage device.
  2. Insert the USB device into the switch USB port and enter the usb on command.
  3. In privileged EXEC mode, enter the copy command to copy the Python file from the USB device to the switch flash memory.
    device# copy usb://pythscript1.py flash://pythscript1.py
  4. To display a list of files in the switch flash memory, enter the dir command.
    device# dir

  5. To display the contents of a Python file copied into the switch flash memory, enter the show file command.
